Those that have used teleconsultation, vital signs monitoring, or both telehealth methods to provide care in NUHS@Home, were eligible for the study. Participants were recruited via an email invitation sent out by the primary investigator of the study (SQK) between November 2022 and January 2023. Recruitment for the study concluded when no new survey responses were received, and data saturation was achieved for the qualitative component of the study.

Nurses’ and Nursing Assistants’ Experiences With Teleconsultation in Small Rural Long-Term Care Facilities: Semistructured Interview Pilot Study

During the project, participants documented 19 clinical situations using teleconsultation and 14 clinical situations without teleconsultation. According to the organization’s previous year’s statistics regarding on-call telephone services, the number of clinical situations remains similar year over year. This attests to the stability of the environment, providing an appropriate context to study the implementation of teleconsultation.
