If the study is successful, we will yield information on HIV knowledge, Pr EP awareness, Pr EP preferences, and related outcomes among sexual and gender minority teenagers in Alabama, an underserved, hard-to-reach, but also high-priority population for public health efforts to Ending the HIV Epidemic.

Around 32% of US teenagers are diagnosed with anxiety, and 12% with depression. More than 4 in 10 (42%) students reported feeling persistently sad or hopeless, signifying a significant prevalence of emotional distress among adolescents. Furthermore, nearly one-third (29%) of high school students reported experiencing poor mental health, reflecting a concerning trend that demands immediate attention and intervention.

In 2020, 30% of Weibo active users were born after 2000, indicating that teenagers are an important user group [28]. Teenagers use Weibo for social interaction, self-presentation, and access to various types of information, including entertainment gossip, social news, brand marketing, and other types of information [29].
