Barriers and Determinants of Referral Adherence in AI-Enabled Diabetic Retinopathy Screening for Older Adults in Northern India During the COVID-19 Pandemic: Mixed Methods Pilot Study

Barriers and Determinants of Referral Adherence in AI-Enabled Diabetic Retinopathy Screening for Older Adults in Northern India During the COVID-19 Pandemic: Mixed Methods Pilot Study

Patients faced barriers to follow-up eye exams, including transportation issues, high costs, and long wait times [23]. Programs such as a point-of-care DR examination program highlight the potential of telemedicine in reducing barriers to DRS, though adherence to follow-up recommendations after screening remains a major challenge [24]. However, some factors (individual, health) influencing adherence and nonadherence to referral services remain unknown [25].

Preclinical Medical Students' Perspectives and Experiences With Structured Web-Based English for Medical Purposes Courses: Cross-Sectional Study

Preclinical Medical Students' Perspectives and Experiences With Structured Web-Based English for Medical Purposes Courses: Cross-Sectional Study

Barriers to web-based learning were considered [49]. More details regarding the development of EMP courses are provided in Multimedia Appendix 1. The EMP courses were uploaded to a customized web-based learning management system (LMS) developed by our medical school [29]. Each EMP course ran throughout the semester for approximately 48 weeks, and the students’ learning schedule was approximately 3 hours per week.

Best Practice Guide for Reducing Barriers to Video Call–Based Telehealth: Modified Delphi Study Among Health Care Professionals

Addressing these barriers is especially critical when considering the rapid shift to telehealth prompted by the COVID-19 pandemic, which has underscored the potential benefits of video consultations but also exposed the need for clearer guidelines to ensure quality of care [9,13]. Despite growing evidence on these challenges, the literature lacks a comprehensive set of actionable best practices to mitigate barriers associated with video consultations.

Facilitators and Barriers to the Implementation of Digital Health Technologies in Hospital Settings in Lower- and Middle-Income Countries Since the Onset of the COVID-19 Pandemic: Scoping Review

Facilitators and Barriers to the Implementation of Digital Health Technologies in Hospital Settings in Lower- and Middle-Income Countries Since the Onset of the COVID-19 Pandemic: Scoping Review

Among the 12 studies, 9 explored both the facilitators and barriers to implementing DHTs in hospital settings in LMICs since the onset of COVID-19 [36-40,43-45,47]. Two studies focused solely on facilitators [41,42], while 1 solely addressed barriers [46]. A total of 63 facilitators and 44 barriers were identified.

On the Necessity of Multidisciplinarity in the Development of at-Home Health Monitoring Platforms for Older Adults: Systematic Review

On the Necessity of Multidisciplinarity in the Development of at-Home Health Monitoring Platforms for Older Adults: Systematic Review

To identify the most common barriers to uptake in this field, an overview of 12 systematic and other review papers from 2014 onwards was conducted to identify and collate the common issues within some of the common subdisciplines of at-home health care monitoring: encompassing any autonomous monitoring methods used in a domestic context such as camera-based applications, wearable sensors, remote sensors, and ensemble smart-home systems.

Impact of In-Person and Mobile Exercise Coaching on Psychosocial Factors Affecting Exercise Adherence in Inactive Women With Obesity: 20-Week Randomized Controlled Trial

Impact of In-Person and Mobile Exercise Coaching on Psychosocial Factors Affecting Exercise Adherence in Inactive Women With Obesity: 20-Week Randomized Controlled Trial

A personal trainer can develop customized exercise programs that address these physical limitations, helping clients overcome barriers and ultimately improve their perceived health-related quality of life [41,42]. Although individuals with obesity might acknowledge the benefits of personal trainers in providing exercise motivation and support, their use is often limited by barriers such as accessibility, time constraints, socioeconomic resources, and cost concerns [43-45].

Acceptance Factors and Barriers to the Implementation of a Digital Intervention With Older Adults With Dementia or Caregivers: Protocol for an Umbrella Review

Acceptance Factors and Barriers to the Implementation of a Digital Intervention With Older Adults With Dementia or Caregivers: Protocol for an Umbrella Review

The main aim of this review is to investigate, understand, and summarize the acceptability and barriers to using technology to monitor and manage health conditions in people with dementia and their carers, using more recent data. Another aim is to contribute to a theoretical debate and offer suggestions for future research in this area of work, as well as categorize the barriers and motivations for using technology.

Exploring Barriers to Patients’ Progression in the Cardiac Rehabilitation Journey From Health Care Providers’ Perspectives: Qualitative Study

Exploring Barriers to Patients’ Progression in the Cardiac Rehabilitation Journey From Health Care Providers’ Perspectives: Qualitative Study

Insights from those who deliver care can provide valuable information on improving CR delivery and addressing barriers effectively [21]. The aim of this study was to explore the barriers to progression throughout the CR patient journey from the perspectives of health care providers involved in CR care. We conducted semistructured interviews with 10 providers and identified 4 barriers to progression within the CR patient journey.

Activity Trackers in Physical Therapy for People With Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease in the Netherlands: Cross-Sectional Study on Current Use and Implementation Determinants

In addition, more insight into potential barriers and facilitators for successful future implementation of ATs is necessary to optimize the treatment of patients with COPD. A theoretical framework to assess potential barriers and facilitators for implementing innovations is the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR) [17].
