Older adults often complain about amnesia or increasing memory problems, although these cognitive changes affect some individuals more than others [1]. Although some degree of cognitive slowing is typical of normal aging, when the acquired cognitive impairment has become severe enough to compromise social or occupational functioning, the diagnosis of dementia is typically established [2].
