Investigating Protective and Risk Factors and Predictive Insights for Aboriginal Perinatal Mental Health: Explainable Artificial Intelligence Approach

Investigating Protective and Risk Factors and Predictive Insights for Aboriginal Perinatal Mental Health: Explainable Artificial Intelligence Approach

Despite routine screening for PNDA and anxiety in Australia for over 20 years, the gap in Aboriginal mothers’ and infants’ health and well-being remains unacceptable across all key indicators. This is evident in disproportionately higher rates of premature births, low birth weight babies, and child removal [5,6]. Conventional health systems’ approach to antenatal/postnatal care and screening are often culturally insensitive and retraumatizing for Aboriginal women [9].

Integrating a Mobile App to Enhance Atrial Fibrillation Care: Key Insights From an Implementation Study Guided by the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research

Integrating a Mobile App to Enhance Atrial Fibrillation Care: Key Insights From an Implementation Study Guided by the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research

In Australia, atrial fibrillation–related hospitalizations surged by 295% between 1993 and 2013, far exceeding the 73% rise for myocardial infarction and 39% for heart failure during the same period. The financial impact was equally striking, with atrial fibrillation costs escalating by 479%, more than double that of myocardial infarction or heart failure [2,3].

Improving Diet Quality of People Living With Obesity by Building Effective Dietetic Service Delivery Using Technology in a Primary Health Care Setting: Protocol for a Randomized Controlled Trial

Improving Diet Quality of People Living With Obesity by Building Effective Dietetic Service Delivery Using Technology in a Primary Health Care Setting: Protocol for a Randomized Controlled Trial

For example, in Australia, overweight and obesity and dietary risks collectively account for nearly half of the 38% of the preventable burden of disease, with overweight and obesity being the leading contributor to nonfatal burden [2]. In tandem, direct health care costs associated with obesity-related conditions, such as cardiovascular disease, respiratory disease, type 2 diabetes, and some cancers, are rising with an unequal distribution corresponding to the level of socioeconomic disadvantage [3,4].

Integrating Virtual Reality, Neurofeedback, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Auditory Verbal Hallucinations (Hybrid): Protocol of a Pilot, Unblinded, Single-Arm Interventional Study

Ten participants with a diagnosed FEP will be recruited via telephone from Orygen’s Early Psychosis Prevention and Intervention Centre, headspace youth mental health services, and the Orygen Clinical Trials Unit database which serve the Northern and Western suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. Help-seeking participants with FEP from the community will also be recruited. Recruitment will involve phone calls, email, and SMS contact with potential participants.

Engaging End Users to Inform the Design and Social Marketing Strategy for a Web-Based Sexually Transmitted Infection/Blood-Borne Virus (STI/BBV) Testing Service for Young People in Victoria, Australia: Qualitative Study

To address the growing demand for access to STI/BBV testing in Australia, we are developing a fully automated web-based STI/BBV testing service to be offered as part of the only specialist sexual health service in Victoria, Australia, based in Melbourne (population of 5 million), the capital city of the State of Victoria (population of 6.7 million).

Exploring the Views of Dermatologists, General Practitioners, and Melanographers on the Use of AI Tools in the Context of Good Decision-Making When Detecting Melanoma: Qualitative Interview Study

In countries with high prevalence rates of melanoma, such as Australia and New Zealand [19], skin cancer diagnosis is conducted by dermatologists and GPs, (including those with a special interest in skin cancer), and screening may be conducted by other clinicians such as melanographers (skin imaging technicians who often have a background in nursing).

Prevalence of Antibiotic Prescribing for Acute Respiratory Tract Infection in Telehealth Versus Face-to-Face Consultations: Cross-Sectional Analysis of General Practice Registrars’ Clinical Practice

Prevalence of Antibiotic Prescribing for Acute Respiratory Tract Infection in Telehealth Versus Face-to-Face Consultations: Cross-Sectional Analysis of General Practice Registrars’ Clinical Practice

The majority of antibiotics in Australia are prescribed in general practice (family practice). Inappropriate prescribing of antibiotics in outpatient settings, especially in primary care or general practice, is a major driver of antimicrobial resistance [3]. Therefore, antibiotic stewardship in general practice is vital. In 2022, overall 36.6% of Australians were prescribed at least one antibiotic in the community [2].

Assessing Digital Maturity of Hospitals: Viewpoint Comparing National Approaches in Five Countries

Assessing Digital Maturity of Hospitals: Viewpoint Comparing National Approaches in Five Countries

Each of the included countries (Australia [Queensland], Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, and Scotland) has a unique health care system shaped by different policies, regulations, and funding mechanisms. Comparing digital maturity across these varied systems, allowed us to gain insights into how different approaches to health care administration impact the adoption and implementation of digital technologies.

A Digital Pornography Education Prototype Co-Designed With Young People: Formative Evaluation

In Australia, the delivery of relationships and sexuality education (RSE) has evolved in recent decades to include a broader range of contemporary sexual health topics and themes [14]. However, creating programs that adequately cater to the complex sexual health needs of diverse young people has posed an ongoing challenge for Australian educators and policymakers alike [15].
