Sweeney et al [7] found reasons that stem from both therapists (eg, lack of training) and patients (eg, poor motivation). To overcome these barriers and increase the use of technology in rehabilitation, a number of recommendations have been proposed, including improved usability, clinical evidence of effectiveness, value for money, and conforming to self-management programs [9].
